To launch its new Continuous Quality Improvement Community Implementation of Trauma-Related Services Initiative, DCFS will be presenting four regional trainings on the impact of traumatic stress on children in IDCFS and the core elements of best practice for child trauma assessment and treatment. The trainings will also provide the opportunity to become certified in the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) assessment tool, which is the standard assessment tool that IDCFS providers will be using. Continuing education credits will be provided to attendees of either component of the trainings. Therapists, clinical supervisors, and quality improvement staff are invited to attend. To register for one of the trainings below, please contact Brandy Bedenfield at b-bedenfield@northwestern.edu with your name, your agency name, and the training session you would like to attend.
